The Empire Club of Canada
M.J. started her professional life as an interpreter (English/ASL). In 1989, she was ordained into the United Church of Canada, where she was engaged in congregational ministry and as a Long Term Care chaplain for almost two decades. She is an owner and V.P. of Mr. Discount Ltd. and a partner in WTFest. Now she’s semi-retired and working on her life-long dream of obtaining a Ph.D. in Theology with a focus on work and labour.
M.J. believes strongly in individual public service and has sat on many not-for-profit, charitable, and foundation boards, including the Ontario Association of Children’s Aid Societies, Massey Centre for Women, and Community Care. She comes to the Foundation after serving 11 years on the Empire Club of Canada Board of Directors.
