The Empire Club of Canada Presents:
We’ve Got the Power: Ontario’s Generational Opportunity
The Empire Club of Canada’s Energy Series is all charged-up with the addition of this event featuring Honourable Stephen Lecce, Ontario’s new Minister of Energy and Electrification in his first major address in this portfolio.
As Ontario faces a dramatic surge in energy demand, the province is taking bold steps to secure a clean and affordable future. The province has launched the largest competitive energy procurement in Ontario’s history and is undertaking the largest refurbishment and expansion of nuclear energy in North America to meet rising energy needs.
Ontario is also proud to be building the first Small Modular Reactor in the G7 — showcasing leadership on a global scale.
The Empire Club of Canada is honoured to welcome Hon. Stephen Lecce, Minister of Energy and Electrification, for We’ve Got the Power: Ontario’s Generational Opportunity, a keynote address outlining the province’s next steps, including his vision for Ontario’s journey towards becoming an energy superpower.
Join us on October 24th as Minister Lecce explores the bold initiatives and forward-thinking strategies that will drive the province towards a vibrant and prosperous future, all made possible with more clean, reliable, and affordable energy for today and beyond.

The Empire Club of Canada’s Fall Energy Series
Stephen Lecce is the Minister of Energy and Electrification for the Province of Ontario and the Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for King-Vaughan.
As the Minister of Energy and Electrification, Stephen is keeping energy costs down for residents and businesses across Ontario, while building a reliable and affordable electricity system that runs one of the cleanest grids in the world. In his mission to build out the electricity resources we need to power economic growth and increase electrification, Stephen is engaging with leaders from Ontario’s world-class energy sector and partners across the province, including Indigenous communities, local distribution companies, transmission companies, and energy agencies to ensure our energy infrastructure is built the right way for future generations.
Stephen’s work will continue to build on Ontario’s clean energy advantage and help ensure that Ontario’s energy system is ready to support future historic investments.
Stephen’s first experience in politics came in his home town of Vaughan where he was involved in the 1999 election of the late MPP Al Palladini. He continues to give back and support the people of King-Vaughan as MPP, and as the former First Vice President of the National Congress of Italian Canadians, an active member of the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce and former Youth Education Chair of Vaughan’s Royal Canadian Legion (Mackenzie Branch 414).
