Nicole Miller

Board Member, Empire Club Foundation

For over 12 years up until February 2021, Nicole Miller was the Executive Director of FAST, a national nonprofit providing free online human rights education resources. Nicole grew up in South Africa under the system of apartheid, and fighting racism and discrimination have always been very important to her.

At age 12, she immigrated with her family to Canada. Following high school in Toronto, Nicole attended McGill University and graduated with an Honours BA in languages. At age 21, she studied at Parsons School of Design, graduating with an Honours BFA in Communication Design.

After 12 years in New York working as an advertising and design Creative Director, she relocated to Toronto with her family in 1996, to take partnership in a boutique design firm. Having 25 years of experience in the advertising world, Nicole wanted to give back to the community and changed careers in 2008. At FAST, she led a team to develop and promote free educational resources that have reached over 4.5 million students across Canada. Nicole is currently beginning new pursuits and exploring writing opportunities.
