Sitara has over 8 years of finance and accounting management experience with companies in Canada and Africa. She brings experience in a broad range of industries, including public accounting, treasury management, charter ship financials and nonprofit. Sitara is experienced in virtually all aspects of finance and accounting management, including financial reporting, budgeting, financial modeling and analysis.
Sitara has been a Civil Society Organization (CSO) participant at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Spring Meetings. Sitara has served on 2 boards, Canadian Center for Women’s Empowerment (CCWFE), a non-profit dedicated to addressing Women Economic Abuse and Economic Injustice as Treasurer of the Board of Directors and the African Communities of Manitoba (ACOMI), a non-profit with a mission to have a sustainable African Canadian presence across Manitoba as Board Director. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting from Trent University and she’s currently the Manager of Finance for FORREC, an award-winning architecture design firm based in Toronto.
