Michael Chong is a five term Member of Parliament for Wellington Halton Hills. He served in the federal cabinet as Minister for Intergovernmental Affairs and is known for getting his democratic reform bill passed as a private member’s bill, an unusual accomplishment. He is running for leader of the Conservative Party to build a bigger party that reflects Canada and Canadians and that can win in 2019. He was raised in Fergus, Ontario, where he now resides on a farm with his wife Carrie and their three sons William, Alistair and Cameron
